Osceola County Voters approve tax for future hotel along Highway 60

March 5, 2015

The growth of Highway 60 through Northwest Iowa means more travelers, and the opportunity for more business growth. Now, community leaders in Osceola County want to capitalize on the latest economic addition, a new 36-room hotel, to bring in even more growth to the area.

Once finished, the multi-million dollar AmericInn Hotel being built in Osceola County will be able to capitalize on travelers stopping through on their drive along Highway 60. The county has already seen a big bump in local business in recent years, thanks to the heavy traffic coming through the area. But the county is now taking it one step father, five percent farther that is, thanks to a hotel tax approved by voters Tuesday night.
