Located in the southeast corner of Ashton, this eight acre park provides drinking water, flush toilets, and a small water impoundment

Ashton Pits Access Area 


This 33 acre area provides camping, hiking, and hunting opportunities. Located one-half mile northeast of Ashton.

Hawkeye Point is the highest natural point in Iowa at 1,670 feet. It is approximately 4.5 miles north of Sibley on the eastern side of SR 60 and approximately 3.5 miles south of the Iowa-Minnesota state border.

Iowa Lake ParkContact:

This 114 acre area is located 3.5 miles north and one mile west of Harris. This park is part of Iowa Lake State Park which is managed by the state of Iowa. This site provides boating, fishing, picnicking, and hunting opportunities. There is also electric and water facilities available for camping.

Melvin Park 


Located in Melvin, this area provides electricity, drinking water, pit toilets, tennis courts, playground equipment, a baseball diamond, and picnicking.

Ocheyedan MoundContact:

Located one mile southeast of Ocheyedan. This 29 acre area is an historic site with hiking opportunities.

Ocheyedan Pits Recreation AreaContact:

This area is located two miles south of Ocheyedan. The 33 acre area has electricity, drinking water, pit toilets, picnicking, hiking, fishing, and swimming opportunities available. The area also has 25 acres of surface water.

Location: 2 miles South of Ocheyedan

Features: Picnic shelter, rest rooms, water, camping, fishing, swimming and nature trails. Wildlife Management Area behind park open to public hunting during season. No firearms or shooting any other time.

This camp ground is centrally located near the Sibley Golf Course, Sibley Municipal Swimming Pool, and the Sibley Pond in Robinson Memorial Park.

Camp sites are available with electrical and water hookups (small fee applies). Reservations are recommended and should be made by calling.

The long popular swimming pool in Sibley has recently received a face lift. A new handicap accessible entrance has been completed as well as fountains, geysers, water falls, new sound system, renovated beach area and a concession stand. In addition to all this, plans are in the works for a water slide.

The swimming pool in Sibley has recently been remodeled and enhanced. Now featured is a concession stand, water fountains and jets, as well as a beach area.

The Sibley Pool is located in the south-east corner of the city next to the golf course and campground.

The Sibley Public Golf Course has been recently expanded to include a new housing project, of where there are still lots and homes available if interested. The golf course also recently won an award for the best 9 hole golf course in Iowa.

The 9-hole "Sibley" course at the Sibley Golf And Country Club facility in Sibley, Iowa features 3,345 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 36 . The course rating is 35.8 and it has a slope rating of 122 on Blue grass. Sibley golf course opened in 1920. Barb Johnson manages the course as the General Manager.

Features
95 acres, 3.5 acre lake, Native and restored prairie. Recreational activities include fishing, hunting, hiking, birding, nature study, photography.
The Lodge will accomodate 55 persons for social events, meetings, etc.
The classroom is available for school groups, Hunter Education classes, Fish Iowa classes or any 4H, Scout, Club or organization that wishes to use it.

Operating Hours & Seasons
Hours are 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Monday through Friday. 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Saturday and Sundays. Closed on Holidays.
